Cebu City, Philippines

I have finally found my focus again here at home since returning from Philippines last Wednesday. As ministry trips go, this was a good one overall, but there were many facets to it, some better than others and some plain awful! The people I met were lovely and the children delightful.

The building shown here doubles as church and Bible College. Behind the pulpit there are rooms in which whole families live and the college students are also housed on the premises. Located in Alumnos, a slum area, the stilts raise the structure "out of the miry clay." I got the impression this is reclaimed land as the water level fluctuated during the times I visited. It sustains no living creatures except the bacterial sort but did carry an abundance of rubbish.

It was incredibly hot and humid. Though we had several electric fans occilating, it made only a marginal difference. I drank litres of water to counteract dehydration. When my photos are organised, I shall post more comments relating to the ministry undertaken.
